I have been breastfeeding for over a year now. Suddenly today I have pain in my left breast. He only nurses at bed time and in the am now. He nursed on the left breast this morning then around lunch I had sharp burning pain.I let him nurse to alleviate it but it seemed to only make it worse. Its mostly the top half of my breast above the nipple but the nipple is tender too. I have been engorged before and I have been chapped before. This feels completely different. It is throbbing as I type! Any ideas what it is or what might help? Thx

could be thrush, I would head to the doc to get it checked out/get some meds.

Yep, I agree with Kaitlin... It does sounds like thrush.
