whatsa a good age gap between having kids

I have two daughters who are 13 months apart and are best friends. They argue like any other siblings, but they get along more than they argue. I think it depends on the children though because I am the youngest of 7 and am closer to my oldest sister who is 16 years older than I am to my sisters more my age.

i have four and i just turned 31. we had our first a year after we were married (2001), the second 16 months later (2002), one in 2004, and our last one in 2007. they were all planned that way, and we would have had the fourth sooner but i miscarried and it took awhile the last time to conceive. i LOVE it! it is the best thing my husband and i have ever done.

you know what... The doctors will likely tell you that for your body, at least with c-sections that 18 months is good. I had my oldest in 2005 and when he was 1 we found out we were expecting. She did not survive so we tried our fertility drugs and found out four months later we were expecting and when he was born we found out 3 months later we are expecting again. It does completely drain your body. (I am a very high risk patient) But in my honest opinion, It depends on what you and your partner want and if you are mentally ready for close together babies. :)

I have 3 children very spaced apart (17,7 and 2) I honestly think its all in what you as a parent can handle to provide the best loving environment. If you know dealing with them close together would be very challenging then 3-4 years is probably better. My rule was always 1 in diapers at all times and has worked for me mentally and financially (diapers, daycare etc) Though they are so far apart in age they get along wonderfully. My oldest adores his siblings to death. My middle daughter idolizes him but also is independent enough to give him his space cause she is into her own stuff, less fighting for me. The 2 year old though follows everyone regardless but they are old enough to understand he just wants to be with them so they do not get to annoyed so it all works for me. Good luck

I have two sons who are 4 years apart in age and they are like night and day. The oldest is very jealous of his younger brother and has been since they were born...they are now 19 and 15 years old. I think 2-years between children is ideal. You need to wait a year between pregnancies to give your body time to heal completely.

My boys are two years apart - almost exactly. I loved the timing. They are close enough in age to be friends, enjoy a lot of the same stuff, and actually want to play together, but far enough apart for me to handle.
The great part was that once I was finished with something, like the diaper stage, I was really DONE with it - and even now, at 11 and 13, they are still buddies, but with their own friends too.

"Hello Angela, My children are 15 1/2 years apart & we only have the two. I always tell people that thats the only way they were affordable lol...Seriously when you feel you are ready to have another baby you will know exactly when the time is right to enlarge your family. Good luck to you & keep us posted. Blessings~

I have three--#1 & #2 are 2 years and 9 months apart, #2 & #3 are 2 years and 1 month apart. The nearly three years apart was MUCH easier and they still play well together now (almost 6 and just turned 3). Although, now that baby #3 is a little older (just turned 1) the two years is nice too. Do what's right for you!

I have 4! 3 I birthed one stepdaughter i raise! They are 5,5,6,and recently 8! Most of the time it is 5,5,6,7 etc... They problem is it's like having quadruplets! Too close together and it is very challenging! I have 3 in kindergarten and 1 in first . That means 3 to turn 16 and 3 to graduate.Something to think about in the future! Of course all the girls share clothes and they are all in to the same things right now! My sister had her 4 when her others were alot older so she has alot of help! The other kis can do ALOT! But you are knda starting over! Just lay out all the pro's and cons! and let nature take it's course!

Most medical and reproductive professionals do suggest waiting until the baby is at least a year old before getting pregnant again for your body's sake. I always wanted mine 2 years apart because my brother and I are two years apart asd so close in age. It never happened though due to financial, biological and professional reasons.

i really want 4 babys but my boy is only 2mnths now just wondering what is a good gap thanx
hi,i have 6 kids. i had the first 4 all together,1 a year. some of them get on great and some of them can fight. they are16,15,14+13.i think that it can depend on the temperment of the kids. then after a 10 year break we had 2 more and the older ones love them to bits. if you have them closer together they learn to share and play together and then when they are all at school your days are your own!

I think it is what you feel fits your life. I have 4, the first 2 are 13 months apart, the 3rd came along 9 yr. later and the 4th came 10 yr. after 3. It was what worked for me,
You may want them to go up close friends. This is something you will not be able to control, all children are different. Children like life has so many different ways they can turn out. I personally just roll with it and enjoy what I am given when I am given it.

I have 3 yrs between my son and older daughter and 2 years between my older daughter and youngest daughter. The 3 years was so much easier as they are more independant (toilet trained, feeding themself and not so needy of attention,). the 2 year gap almost sent me loopy.

my oldest 2 are 18mths apart, this was good for me, sometimes it feels like they are twins, they fight like crazy (as all siblings do) my youngest is 7mths old, so thats a 4yr age gap there, this is working fine too.
i guess it just comes down to preference, having them close can be handy and great, but also is double the work at any 1 time (very hard to try split your attn at once) and then, having a 4yr gap has made life easy most days, the older 2 adore their baby brother and are always willing to help out

I had my boys 2 years a part and I would not trade that for the world. They are so close and the best of friends. They can not be without eachother. Don't get me wrong they have their moments where they don't want to be around eachother but they won't go anywhere without eachother or don't like to be seperated for to long. I love it!!!

About 2 1/2 to 3 seems good. My friends whose kids are closer in age say it was VERY difficult when their kids were young because they were both so demanding. As they have gotten older, they are very competitive due to being so close in age. Those whose kids are 4+ years apart say their kids aren't very good friends due to the age gap. Their kids are never interested in the same things at the same time. My kids are 2+ years apart, and they love to be together. Although they fight sometimes (what siblings don't?), they truly love spending time together. They are 5 (boy) and 7 (girl), and they are always talking about living together when they grow up. It's great to see how much they really love each other!

My son is 3 yrs old than my daughter. It has worked out very well. They were both in diapers for only a couple months. And when I was breastfeeding, he wasn't old enough to really understand what I was doing, so he did't ask to many questions. He also likes to help w/the baby, which has it's good points and bad points.
