i would say to go and visit the doctor and get a blood test done to check your hormone levels thiroid and have a general check my doctor told me that some viral infections can take up to 6 weeks to get out of our systems.

Lots of things can cause this so don't worry to much. i recommend that you see a doctor and have a blood test to see what your hormones are up to, an imbalance can cause this. Hormones are delicate things and can be affected by stress, tiredness and the pill. Just get checked out for peace of mind.

I would also suggest for you to see a doctor. With having a cold for that long, maybe it is something else. Getting a cold, then getting better, then getting another cold a month later is one thing, but if it is continuous, I would get it looked at.
If she's a single mom w/ a 5 month old it is quite possible that she isn't having sex, so 'no way' could be an extremely reasonable option. I know if my period stopped there would be no way I was pregnant either.
Anyway, to the OP... I ditto the others. Go see your doctor! Good luck!!

Good advice so far: Go to your doctor! While some viral illnesses can take quite a long time to clear out, I don't know of many that will neccessarily stop your period. A blood test will be able to check lots of things going on in your body: Hormone levels, thyroid function, anemia, blood sugar levels, etc. This gives the doctor (and you!) a lot of information so that you can make informed decisions about care. As pointed out earlier, stress CAN cause you to skip periods, so that is something (assuming you aren't pregnant) that you can discuss with a doctor. Hope you feel better soon and good luck!

This happened to me earlier in the year. I went two months with no period. I saw my doctor and they said I definitely wasn't pregnant.
They told me that stress, lack of sleep, or a whole other list of items could be causing me to skip my period. They told me that if it continued for another month or more, to call them again.
After seeing the doctor, I started my period a couple of weeks later.
I would wait for a little bit longer. Then, if it doesn't start on it's own, I would see a doctor.
