I'm about to start feeding my son who is 10 months old finger foods.

I'll start off with the fact that my daughter had 8 teeth going on 12 at 10 months.

I gave her just about everything. If it wasn't a choking hazard she ate it. So basically she didn't eat nuts, hot dogs, or whole grapes. She would stuff her mouth so instead of making things bite sized I cut it into strips, that way she would take bites.

I also started around 7-8 months. Popular items were cheerios, frozen peas, corn, pasta and finely cut meats.

My daughter was about 6 months when she was getting finger foods: cheerios, peas, raisins, grapes (cut in 4ths), diced carrots, toddler hot dogs, toddler/preschool cereal bars (gerber makes them), cheese, green beans, corn, peaches..basically anything we eat diced up. I don't remember how many teeth she had, 4 I think, She is 18 months now and has 14 teeth now. Those darn cuspids have been a problem forever (thats why I didn't give her things like chicken or pork, too hard to bite into)

We introduced finger foods around 8 months. Some of the things our son really enjoyed were over cooked pasta, beans, bananas, mango, avocado, sweet potato fries, steamed veggies of all kinds, cubed cheese, tofu to name a few. I was just sure to keep a good eye on him but he did really well with finger foods. Enjoy!
