When did you stop feeding baby food?

Just curious when other moms stopped feeding baby food and only fed table food to their children. I define baby food as anything pureed and infant cereals. My son only had baby food for 2 months then he refused and would only eat table food. My daughter is now coming up on 2 months of eating solids and is starting to favor table food too and won't eat the cereals at all anymore. How about your babies?

We never fed our son baby food. I would puree whatever we were eating (starting with veggies, then fruit, then meats and beans) when he was small (between 6 and 8 months) and then moved right into offering food chopped into very small pieces at 8 months of age. Of course avoiding the problem foods such as honey, eggs whites and so on. I'd say your daughter is ready for table food.

My first daughter never had purees or cereal. I fork mashed for the first month or two. She just had what we had.

I never feed my children baby food. They all went straight to table food.

I think it was before 12 months. But yeah, I basically followed when they were ready. I weaned it out as they began to eat more table foods. My youngest was never a huge fan of the purees so for her it was a bit earlier. I think if they can handle eating table food (not choking) and want to eat it they're fine to wean off the purees/cereal. When I started feeding table foods I would just give them a little bit of what we were eating, but plain without spices or sauces. Too much taste can overwhelm a baby/toddler. So some well-cooked and softened, cut veggies, some plain mashed potatoes or sweet potatoes and shredded chicken bits (no sauce or spices) was a typical meal plan when they were around 8-12 months.
