I'm 1st time mom. My 5 month girl is most of the time nursing too long (i think) She gets very heavy and feels like she is should be full by now. She nurses only. She barely ever shows any signs that she is full. She was spitting up a lot since she started breastfeeding. So, when she is eating 5 to 30 no matter how long she will still be spitting out. I have noticed when she turned 5 m.o there were maybe like 2 or 3 times she pulled her head upward, so i assumed she was full. There are times she falls a sleep (could be different meaning. This makes it more confusing). And i know that babies would slow down when they are full. But that could also mean they they are tired on sucking too long.... Recently she was eating for about 25 minutes and still would suck i had to take it away but she did not cry but did spit out (it was like burst out forward). So i figured out that was too much. When do usually babies start showing they are full????? Also, she constantly putting hands in her mouth sucking on them. When she would hold a material she would move her head little bit side to side put material to her mouth and make noises like aah-aah-aah... Usually stuff like this happened about an hour to hour in the half to about two hours. Maybe because she wants to suck on something and sleep? There are times she falls a sleep and times she won't and does this thing for a while. I always give her specifier, but seems she always wants to suck or something. I even started giving her at 4 months and 3 weeks some rice cereal.... My baby is very confusing to me, and still can't figure her out.

Babies like to suck. Some only suck when they are hungry. Some like/need to suck practically ALL the time. If you 'think' she might be full give the pacifier. If she's hungry the pacifier won't satisfy her.

If she's spitting up a lot it's possible that she has reflux and the sucking comforts that. She would typically also be cranky with reflux. Or she could just be a 'happy spitter'. I had two happy spitters and one reflux baby. They eventually grow out of the spitting. It doesn't necessarily mean she's eaten too much. Some babies just spit up a lot. If you are concerned about anything... check with her doctor, but if she's relatively content and growing well on her growth curve..... she's probably perfectly fine.

If it's reflux they could put her on meds that may or may not help. Small, frequent feeds and keeping her upright as much as possible 'can' also help some.

She may just have to outgrow it though.

I guess, maybe she is just a big sucker.... About spitting her up: I talked to 2 doctors they just say, "if she is gaining weight then don't worry". But it is so frustrating, she would spit in between 3 hours so much (before i feed her again), while laying down, while sitting or staying upward, even you can hear how it comes out inside and she would swallow it back. I constantly have to have lots of burpers and clouths to change. It's time to feed her she would be still spitting up. With in 2 min at least 5 spit ups Sometimes she seems unhappy. But not all the time. She would cry and be cranky i pick her up she burps and spits, i put her down she is cranky again, i pick her up she ould spit like 2 or 3 times in the row a lot...... What would doctors do, they only say same stuff when i come. I only waste my time...
