Depending on culture boys are held higher. In some cultures girls have no say and no value. Boys are the ones that carry on the family name. Boys are needed to work either physical work farming or going off to work to earn money. In some cultures women are not allowed to work. When a woman grows up and marries the family must pay her future husband. Though many of these things do not exist in today's US culture there are some that still have that old mindset of wanting a boy to carry on the family name. Some families want a boy for the father to have that father/son bond and for the father to do all the things he dreamed of doing with his son. Just as some women want a girl to do the mother/daughter things. I think you have to be ok with what you get and be blessed to be able to have children of your own. There are SO many people that just want SO badly to just have a child no matter what the gender. Personally I also feel that if you are SO stuck on wanting a certain gender then adopt. There are so many children that need homes. This way you also don't get the less desired gender and then treat the child differently then you would have if you got the gender you desired.

I have only raised a daughter, and we have certainly had our conflicts, but, comparing notes with my friends who have had sons, I doubt this.

Donna, and the reason is most likely because boys are known to be easier.

Yes and there are ways to help the males get there first, and make your uterus favorable for whatever sex you want. And no it is not fool proof, but can certainly increase the odds. I have had a boy and intentionally tried for a girl and got it. My boy, I was doing things without knowing I was doing the right hings for a boy....and got one. Of course it will work for some and not others.

There is no scientific evidence that any method which purports to skew the odds one way or the other works. And I have to wonder why so many people seem to favor having a boy.

having a boy does not have one single thing to do with the female man release females sperms and male sperms whatever sperm reaches egg first that's what you get"

Actually, there are ways to try for a boy Sarah. There is no gaurnatee, but it can help raise the odds.

Joy, look into the Shettles method for when to have sex, positions, and even food that you can eat to make your uterus favorable for male sperm. Male sperm are sprinters, so they get there before female sperm if you are in the right position (but not always a gaurantee, please understand that). So, when you are doggy style, it is a shorter distance to the egg. Female sperm tend to take a bit longer. Just look up the method. It helps and can explain it faster than I can.

As far as you ovulating, NO ONE can predict that for you. Get yourself an ovulation kit to find out for sure, or see your doctor. I ovulate weird, the day after the last day of my period. Everyone is different.

You get a baby boy when the male sperm gives you a Y chromosome. That is the only way to get a boy. All other ways are just myths and wives tales and you have to be ok with getting a girl, otherwise my advise is to adopt or wait until you are ready to just be happy with what you get.
