I also didnt get any and I did use a lot of bio oil through-out. My mother and 5 sisters all had serious ones so I had just accepted that I would too! But surprisingly I didnt! So the gene thing might not be true for everyone.

I have had two children and am 19 weeks pregnant with my third. I was pregnant with my oldest when I was 18 and I did not have a single stretch mark until 3 days before he was born. I used tons of cocoa butter and vitamin E inside and out. I didn't really get any more with my daughter born 16 months later at 20yrs old. Now 8 years later I am pregnant again and thinking that I should get something to prevent further stretching because maybe I am older and my stretchmarks have all healed so I have been reading "The Girl Friends Guide to Pregnancy" and it says that you can order 100% Shea butter of the internet and slather your stomach with it everyday. I don't know if it will work but I am gonna try it!

I made it to 35 weeks in my pregnancy before I gave birth and did not have one stretch mark. I didn't really do anything to prevent them... I rubbed EVOO on my tummy like twice...my mom swore by it. lol. I did it to please her =]

I am 34 weeks and I do not have any stretch marks. I put on bio-oil and cocoa butter twice a day. My mother also did not get any stretch marks during pregnancy and my doc says it's genes. It also depends on how much weight you gain and how fast. I was very thin when I became pregnant and ive only gained about 20 pounds.

I am 25 weeks pregnant and a pretty small girl. I weighed around 110 when I found out I found out I was pregnant and I started getting dark purple stretch marks below my waist about two weeks ago. However, there is a great chance that you never will get stretch marks. Everyone's body is different and their makeup, so don't worry just take care of your body with lots of lotion!! =) Good luck I haven't gotten many so far.

some women can get them right away when they first start showing for me with my fist the did show till i was 7 months cuz that when i started to show i was really tiny with my first... my second they started about 2 months ago and i'm due in 2 weeks. so it it could happen when ever or you can be one of the lucky ones and not get them at all like my sister in law lol
A lot of it is how fast you stretch. My mom has 3 kids and hardly any stretch marks at all, I've got one (so far) and I look like a freakin' zebra! But a lot of the reason I got them so bad is because I got super sick in the first trimester (I had hyperemesis, and couldn't keep any food or liquids down for almost 3 weeks) and lost about 10 pounds. I started the pregnancy at around 140, by week 11 I was down to around 130, and by the end I was up to almost 170. So basically I gained 40 pounds in 30 weeks, and it was ALL in my belly, thighs, and boobs, and that's where all my stretch marks are.
The good news is that they fade pretty well over time. My daughter's only 8 weeks, and my stripes are already starting to fade away.

If you don't have any consider yourself lucky! LOL. If you are stretching slowly then you might be good to go. I didn't have any until the last 3 weeks of my pregnancy with my first child and after he was born i started using Bio-oil. They started to go away and it works great for scars too. I wasn't so lucky with my daughter as i didn't even look pregnant until about 7 months and i literally poped over night. I'm still working on getting those ones to go away but she's only 4 months old so i know with time they will fade. Try the Bio-oil to keep your skin good and rady adn you will be less likely to get any. A friend of mine used it for her 2 children and she doesn't have a mark and she too poped over night. Good luck:)

I didn't have stretch marks my entire pregnancy I religiously put cream on twice a day bio oil, cocoa butter etc.... and I got huge! I got them around 34 weeks and my son was born 36 weeks - they appeared from my belly button down - they looked ugly and I felt stink that I had done so much - and still I got them..... Good news however they faded and you couldn't even see them after I lost 7 kilos (about 5months) after Jacob was born. I just think now, its proof of being a mother and what we go through - Your luck will depend on your skin - how well it stretched - my mum had four kids and no stretch marks so genes don't even help! - my advice just don't put on too much weight (well try anyway)

stretch marks occur when the body grows faster than the skins' ability to stretch. You can help not get them by drinking plenty of fluids. There are also creams and lotions you can use that claim to reduce them.
I got none on my belly either time (I have two) but I got some on my breasts with my first (when my milk came in) and on my hips with my second (right at the end, maybe a week before he was born)

They don't always appear. I had none with my first pregnancy. With my second, I had some very fine ones appear near the end of the pregnancy, but I was very small - I looked about 6 months pregnant when I was full term. I think the reason I ened up with stretch marks with that pregnancy was because of my age. We all know our skin loses a little elasticity as we get older and I was 36.....
