It depends on the woman. 'I' got my period back at 2.5 months (and every month since) even though I was exclusively breastfeeding. I have a friend that doesn't get her period back until she fully weans... whether that is 10 months or 18 months.. even w/ feeding solids and supplementing w/ formula.

I do have to say that if you've had one period and are sexually active... I would NOT start your birth control until you have had a negative pregnancy test just to be on the safe side. It could very well be your body still adjusting from giving birth... or you could be pregnant.

Hi everyone...anyone...my son is almost 7 months, born in November, and I got my first period, last month, may 9th, to be exact, so I assumed it wouldn't be the same exact date/days as before I got pregnant, but it would be around the 9th, like last month, since after giving birth, and it is now June 12th, and I haven't gotten it, is that pretty normal??

Give it time, your body has been carrying a baby for 9 months and hasn't had a period since. usually when your a breastfeeding mom you will experience your period once or maybe not even. My son is going on 9 months and I only had my period once and that was shortly after my 6 week postpartum. if you go two months without your menstrual then I think you should check with your doctor.
