When should I start using soap or shampoo on my baby?

Fierna (3.5 months) was born at home, her cord fell off at 5 days but she wasn't smelly so I didn't bathe her until two weeks I did a wash cloth wipe down. At a month she had her first bath but I didn't use any products on her.
She's had baths here and there but she barely has any hair and after just water she smells nice and her skin is beautiful and rash free.
I figure I'll use shampoo whenever she gets more hair and it seems greasy.
She doesn't get dirty really so I dont see the need for soap yet.
My son Eric had a touch of eczema at one point and his dr said to skip the soap entirely until it cleared up. So I only use soap on him here and there anymore. Usually just if he's really dirty :)

What do you think? Should I use soap when she starts crawling? Or what? Does it even matter? She seems just fine without soap or shampoo so far.........

Probably just keep doing what you're doing until you notice a problem! :) I'm doing something very similar to you. My son is a little younger than yours, and doesn't have a lot of hair. We've shampooed him probably 5 times in his life, and soap when he's unreasonably dirty, same as you. I'm just going to keep on with that until I notice he smells funny. (when he was an infant we used baking soda in the water - it cleans without drying the skin too much)
