The couple of times I've been pregnant and tested at home I always got a positive result on the day my period was due (or the day after). If you want to be a little more sure you could wait til it has been a week late.

If you use first response, it is sensitive enough to test within 1-3 days of your first missed period. Use the first urine of the morning because it is the most concentrated with hormones. Doing a test before you miss a period is just simply a waste of money on a test.

One week after missed period is the best suggested time to get the most accurate pregnancy test result. The test generally checks for pregnancy hormone hCG, for hCG levels to rise and show up in a kit/test, the fertilized egg should implant in the uterus, on an average it takes around 10 days for an egg to connect to uterus.
Some brands claim that they confirm pregnancy results through their kits 6 days before your missed period, which is still around 65% but not 100% accurate. In your case, it is better to wait till Aug 15th, at least.
After reading this, if you are still unable control your urge to take pregnancy test, just go for it, if it is negative, do not rely on it, as it can still turn positive after your missed period.
