My daughter memorized her time tables when she was 8, and now she is 13 and can't remember them. Should I have gone through them with her once in a while? She's always known her times tables, I'm not sure why she forgot them...

I would be practicing times table daily. Jodi is right, multiplication is involved in many different kinds of equations, but it is important for them to be able to multiply. Doing flash cards daily will help. My son has to practice them regularly. Division is his week point, but when he is practicing his times table regularly, it makes it easier for him to do.

Does she practice some kind of maths activity every day? The most important things with maths is practice, but it doesn't have to be times tables. There are plenty of other maths skills that apply times tables. If she is learning area and perimeter, she'd be using times tables. If she is doing algebra or fractions or trigonometry, she'd be using times tables. Encourage her to not use a calculator for her maths unless necessary - this will help with her mental maths skills.

She has been doing some math daily, but not her times tables. I will get her started on those again right away. Thank you!
