I have a big challenge every time am leaving home, more especially in the morning when I am preparing for work. My child always cries for me and even when I tell him mama will be back again, it doesn't make any difference to him and it also makes me sad leaving him crying every morning. What can I do, what's the Technic?

@Carol, thanks and you're truly a mom coz my son did that to me yesterday. Totally ignored me, but I went I told him that I loved him, that's when he wanted to come and be with me. Thanks and will make use of your help.

It's probably more upsetting for you than him. I used to have a daycare and had to handle this from new kids all the time. The best investment I had was a fish tank. The kids loved looking and the fish and feeding them. Any kids that were having trouble at separation fed the fish a little. By the time they were done watching the fish gobble the food, the tears were gone. I think the key is not to prolong the exit and not to get upset. If you cry, they cry, then you cry more, then they do... Give them a hug and kiss. Tell them you love them and will be back soon. Maybe leave them with your shirt or something with your smell on it and get out the door. A good sitter will be able to redirect most kids and they'll be fine all day. Some of my daycare kids would "get back" at their parents when they returned by ignoring them. As if to say if you don't need me, then I don't need you. Don't take it to heart.
