When you notified your health care provider that you were trying to concieve, were you on any medication and were you told to stay on it in order to prevent anything harmful happening to the baby? Im just wondering as i was taken off my anti depressant but was told to stay on my liver meds as that could cause miscarrage which i really want to avoid because i know myself and future hubby would be devistated if we lost baby (not pregnant yet but TTC.

I never told them I was trying to conceive. I would definitely find out about that and get on one that is safe/er for pregnancy.

If it has been advised to stay on the medication then this is what you should do. Just double check with your GYNE that these drugs are safe, maybe there is another you could switch to for the nine months that would be less invasive. Doctors have to be so careful these days when stating which drugs can be taken during pregnancy because if they get it wrong they can be sued. If they say its safe, its safe!

I would think if you're on medications for your liver that YOUR health would be at risk if you stopped taking them. It may be a risk to the fetus to be on them, but far safer for you.
