Hello, where would a person go to find respite care for their aging mom or dad?

There are companies that do it (for a fee). I found several pamphlets for companies local to me at a physical therapist's office. I also just did a Google search for home respite care and came up with a lot of responses. I don't know where you are so I can't narrow them down. However, http://www.helpguide.org/elder/respite_c... might be helpful to you in finding something.

Another suggestion might be to call a hospice company and ask them who supplies reliable respite care in your area. We are using Vista Care Hospice for my mom and they are very good and seem to want to be helpful even if your mom isn't ready for their services.

Depending on how mobile your parent is, you can also look into adult day care.
