Where to live?

I live in Crestview, northwest florida right now. Were not really happy as the schools do not participate in special Olympics. My son couldn't even do basketball because the age he is still in high school, there were no players his age. Well, when the schools don't participate? you have no players. We have 3 military bases and its so disappointing that we have to beg for more sports other than track and bowling. I need a place that is progressive, involved, and good high schools, community and better than what is going on now. I swear I cry at night about this. If my son didn't have a school buddy he would be so lonely, I hate crestview!

Yep, as a mommy of a special needs child you are their advocate. Call around and see who can help you fight for better opportunities. If nothing else show up to school district meetings. Tell them your concerns.

To him? This place IS home for ever and ever. He loves to travel, but come back. I guess it's up to me to strongly advocate to the county to improve, continue to blaze the trails for him and work WITH the system because I'm sure it is the same in a lot of places.

he is so easy to please. He is a simple young man, if it were up to him? He would go with the flow. I truly mean that. He accepts life as I comes, never demanding. I should take lessons from him!

I would just say that if your son is in highschool it will be very stressful to move him to a new school. Ask him how he feels about moving. You're saying you want to move for his sake so he should have a say.
