whether he is getting sufficient nutrition or not?

My 3 months old, exclusively breastfed baby boy, caught cold few weeks back and since then he has not been feeding well. The cough is still there. He used to take 10-12 mins of feed every 2-3 hrs. Now his entire schedule has become so erratic; I shouldn't be calling it a schedule now. He feeds for hardly 3-4 mins at a time. Sometimes asks every hour , sometimes goes for more than 5-6 hrs without feed. Ped says wake him up n feed him, but he doesn't take if he doesn't want. He cries also too much now. His weight is 6.5 kgs but he didn't gain much this month(900 gms). I don't know whether he is getting sufficient nutrition or not. or shall I switch over to formula now? please help.

Keep on BFing. Often when they get a cold, it takes a week or two once the cold is gone to get there appetite back. Then they don't stop eating! You can start pumping in the meantime to keep your supply built up and have some extra supply. Good luck, I know it can be worrisome and difficult.
