That depends on the bed you have. If you have a toddler bed for your child, only crib matteresses fit that. If you have a twin bed then a twin mattress will fit it. It also depends on the child and how well they adapt to the newer bed. If your child is not comfortable with a twin, then a toddler bed is the best way to go. My oldest was in a twin at the age of two and did fine. My son waited until four because we had small room in our home at the time and a toddler bed fit the bedroom he shared with his sibling at the time. When he did go into a twin bed, he did fine.

I do not know where you would find a bed with characters on it in twin size. Maybe a favorite color for the head board? Go to a furniture store and see what they have in stock. That is the only place I know to get one.
