Hi , I noticed my son , 17months, has white spots on his finger nails, its on most of his fingers. What could this be? Someone did say it could be an iron deficiency. Please help.

Zinc. A zinc deficiency is what causes the white spots. I would introduce some foods that are higher in zinc to his diet.
It's not a huge deal. I had them most of my life. It's not because I was eating unhealthy, but that my body wasn't processing the zinc to its full benefit.
Sesame, pumpkin, and squash seeds, low fat beef, dark chocolate and cocoa powder, and peanuts are excellent foods to eat for a boost of zinc :)

Sounds like it could be a vitamin deficiency. Talk to your doctor about the best way to counteract, but a lot of that is solved through balanced nutrition.
