She sees older as more power. She is bomb barded with TV ads, and books, and TV shows that make the teens years sound filled with glory .... iCarly, that kid really has no adult supervision ... none of them do.
The supid show about the twins sailing around the world ....
I would stomp my foot down on this.... once her baby years are gone, she will never ever get them back.

I remember when I was 8, I had a huge crush on one of my dad's karate students. Hamish was like 16 years old.lol But he was so cute and he didn't pick his nose. *sigh* Oh to be that young again. Sorry, that's all I got for you, I didn't want bras or bikinis at that age (wouldn't have been allowed a bikini at 8 anyway). But on the boy thing, I agree with Jodi, it's probably harmless.

We spend half our childhood wanting to be older, and then most of our adulthood wanting to be younger. Ironic, isn't it?
My question to you......how can she wear a bikini and bra if you are not buying them for her, or allowing her to? I allow my 6 year old quite some freedom with her wardrobe and what she wears on a daily basis, but ultimately, I only allow her wardrobe to contain clothes I deem suitable for her to choose from.
With respect to the boys thing, I'm sure it is pretty harmless, but make sure you have had a talk to her about her body, and what is and is not appropriate, etc. It's possibly time to start talking to her about upcoming changes and puberty, just to get the dialogue going. You don't have to sit down and discuss it all at once. I already have an open dialogue with my 6 year old about these things, and it will lead to great honest communication in the future between the two of you.

Thanks Jodi, that was helpful. I dont allow her to wear bras and stuff like that, I do let her wear make up, but only at "play time" with me. Not if shes going out in public or anything like that. I just dont want her growing up to fast.
