my son isnt speaking yet and he is almost 2 years old and you can tell he wants to talk to you because he get angry an screams bangs his head on the ground. he will also sometime act like he cant hear us sometimes when we are saying his name. like one day i was trying to get his attention an i was saying his name an i even thru a pillow at his feet and he still wouldnt responds but orther times he looks right at me. idk maybe im just worried for no reason but i really wish that he could tell me what he wants an talk to me so i know whats wrong. what should i do for him.

Have you taken this child to the doctor to express your concerns? It is not normal for a child to not be speaking at all by 2 years old. Early intervention is key for any issues with speech.

Here's the funny thing about hearing..I know you have already said his hearing is fine..but some kids hearing can go in and out. So really unless you have it tested you don't know if this is the case. Then the parents find out and go.."why didn't you tell me?" and the child doesn't know the difference because everything has always been that way for him/her.

This zoning out worries me...I don't mean to alarm you but this is very concerning combined. Take him to the doctor and rule out anything abnormal.

I would scheduale a check up if it was my kid, just to rule anything out. It could be that he is just taking his time. My son really was not talking well until about 3. He could understand everything, but just took a while to really talk. He used words, but I had thought then he should have been talking more also.

Have you had his hearing checked recently or talked to your pediatrician about your concerns?
