I am beyond frustrated that they didn't give me this information before I already pre registered at the hospital I wanted to...

So my c section is scheduled Nov 5 at another hospital that I've never been to or heard of and I am fighting to have my baby delivered where I want.

If I can get another doctor to do my c section I will do that, it's getting really close to my surgery date, the reason my doctor can't do the surgery at the hospital I already pre registered at is because in November they are no longer contracted with that hospital.

So what are your suggestions, what do I do????

Reading these responses it makes sense even though it's inconvienent for me to have to switch to another hospital the main thing is that the baby will be delivered safely by the doctor I have been seeing for the past 5 months. I will find out Monday all the detaills and what my options are.

Personally I would go to the hospital where my doctor is, there is no way I would if wanted a strange doctor whom I'd never met deliver my baby. I would visit the new hospital and make sure they are clear on your wishes of wanting to breastfeed.

It may sound scary to you to go to a different hospital but you have to decide which is more important to you, the relationship and confidence you have in your doctor or the confidence you have to go into a surgery with a doctor you don't know.

I would suggest you request a tour of the new hospital. Schedule it with the birth center. Ask questions about what you can expect with a c-section delivery in this hospital. If may be that the new hospital is a better choice and your doctor moved to it for those very reasons

I have but it's super inconvienent it's not close to where I live and I have family already flying in plus the hospital I chose encourages breastfeeding and its a newer better hospital. It's just frustrating that I would even have to consider changing everything last minute.

Have you considered at least having a look at the other hospital? It might turn out to be a nicer hospital than the one you're currently registered with.
