At his age they do go through a clingy phase. All 3 of mine did. He could be transitioning to needing only 1 nap during the day. My daughter was about that age when she went to 1. She usually wakes in the morning anywhere between 6:30-7:30, has breakfast, she then goes for her nap about 12. Have you thought about getting him his own bed/cot/crib for his daytime naps? He's used to you being in bed with him at night and he's realizing that it's different during the day now.

You may need to set some routines, kids thrive on them. I know when we go out and aren't home in time for my daughters nap it puts her out for the night time routine. We always have dinner at around 6pm and she has her bath at 7pm. She then has quiet time for about an hour and kisses everyone goodnight them to bed at about 8pm.

He is constantly whining and is very clingy to me. He isn't very interested in his toys unless I am right next to him and he won't let me out if his sight or he will cry. I try to put him down for a nap like an hour and A half after he eats breakfast when I notice he is tired but he will fight it and climb off the bed (he sleeps with my husband and I :( ) I wait like a halkf hour and try again and this routine goes on and on. Then after lunch I wait until I notice that he is tired and try the nap thing again and he does the same thing. Its so frustrating and because he doesn't sleep it makes him morecranky and clingy. He aklways wants to be held and if I don't hold him he will cry his little eyes out! :( oh and did I mention he hardly eats! Ugh. Oh and he sleeps very well at night andhe doesn't really have a bedtime routine and when I try to put him down for naps its not always the same times.

We need a bit more information to help.

What do you mean by fussy? How often do you try to put him/her down during the day? What time/s? Does he/she sleep well at night? Do you have a bedtime routine?

All or even some of these answers will help us.
