My son is purely bottle fed and has just started fighting the bottle even though he's hungry. He will drink for 30 seconds, then start wriggling around and then drink again. It's like this every feed. It will take him a good hour or so to drink 200ml. He's also started napping at night (20 minute cycles)-could this be from the fighting of the bottle and hes super hungry? I'm so exhausted from it all, he's constantly crying and grumpy.

Took him to the hospital last night. They checked his weight, ears and urine to see if there was any infection, turns out he was just run down from the constant weather change. He's sort of sleeping better now and less clingy. His gums are a little redder than usual so going to get teething rings for him

It could be that he is teething and sucking on the bottle hurts his gums. He also could be having some reflux, does he spit up, arch his back while eating? Try putting a wet wash cloth in the freezer and using it to rub on his gums prior to feeds. The cold may numb the pain from teething. If it is reflux, stomach acid is coming back up in his throat and causing a burning feeling. I would discuss this with the child's pediatrician.

Have you taken him to the doc to see if he has an ear infection? My 3 year old did that around that age and it turned out he had ear infections all the time and by age 1 he had to have tubes put in and before the tubes he slept just like your baby until he got his tubes in his ears. He would also snack on the bottle and then squirm, he didnt show any other symptoms of ear infections like pulling on ears or feaver but i still knew something was up. And I NEVER layed him down flat on his back when he was feeding or let water go in his ears but he still got ear infections about every other week untill he got tubes.
