I am actually a father. me and my ex seperated when i came home from afghanistan last year, unfortunatly she moved to another state and left me with nothing, causing me to be in a financial bind to where i cant afford alot of visiting time.

My ex came to me harshely yesterday telling me that she is having an issue with my daughter ( 26 months ) calling every male from her brother, to a car dealer "Daddy". i do everything the court has allowed me to do. :( but she is blaming it on me saying i need to step up.

what can i do to help her understand that i am her father other then call, and see her on skype every monday and thrusday for 15 minutes?

My 2-year-old calls whoever takes care of him for more than a couple of hours mommy and daddy. If he's at his aunt and uncle's house, his cousins are saying "Thank you, Daddy" so he does, too. It doesn't mean he doesn't know who his father is.

It's actually a completely normal phase for all kids to go through regardless if dad is or isn't in the picture. Both of my kids went through it.

My child called plenty of other people mommy or daddy. I'm still with her father so its not like she's lacking daddy time. She calls her grandmother "Sara". Sara is her aunt. Kids just do that sometimes.
