Why would you like interacting with your kids online?

Our kids spend more and more time online. I keep doing all what is possible to create occasions to make them walk outside, and that's fine, but not enough. I do not see any point at fighting against games available on their tablets, Ipods or other stuff. It's just a given. However, I'm convinced that we could do better, interacting as parents with our kids online, through games or appropriate tools and keep the dialogue live whenever possible. What are your views ? Do you have tips to share ? Would you know solutions for that ?

I share your concern. It all comes down to setting boundaries in my opinion. It sounds like you are uncomfortable with the amount of time that they are online. You should listen to your "gut." It's telling you that a boundary that is important to you is being compromised. We have a standing rule in my house that no one (including mom and dad) uses a device during dinner or on family night. Our digital devices have a tendency to take away some of the quality time that families used to have.
