Will my children feel at home in a rented house?

In Switzerland it is normal to rent, out of a class of 20children maybe only one child comes from a family that owns the flat or has a house. So its normal here that people all rent.We feel at home, because it is our home,if it makes sense. Its also nice to know that we can move any time we want, just have to say we are moving 3 months ahead.Because sometimes the neighbors arent nice or you need more bedrooms when having more kids,or just want to move to a different place. When we first came to Switzerland after living in our own house in SA it was abit weird, not the renting, but living in an appartment where lots of other familys live. But we got use to it,and we moved to a much nicer place,a 6 family house. Its nice and big,we have a garden and its our home, eventhough we are renting.

Home is what YOU make it. If YOU make it a big deal that you are 'only renting', then your kids will think its a stigma, be embarrassed...etc.
If you make the house a HOME, there is no difference between renting (as long as you are secure in your finances and aren't jumping around every few months to avoid paying bills) and owning a home.

Yes. When we lived in rented properties our kids didn't sense any difference. We own our home now, but we're somewhat unusual. The majority of children our kids know here live in rented flats.
I grew up in a suburb where everyone not only owned their house, they were completely scandalised by the idea that anybody would ever attempt to raise children in something they rented. Anybody living in something rented with children had to bad parent.
My point being, that I'm very familiar with people who highly value home ownership, and who feel that something rented isn't stable and isn't yours. But I can tell you that most kids have no clue about whether their home is rented or owned, and there are huge parts of the world where most people rent and their kids turn out fine.
