Yes even if it has been regular. That's why I was freaking out! I agree with Dove. Wait a week and then take another test. Make sure you take it first thing in the morning, too, as urine will have a higher concentration of the needed hormone to determine pregnancy at that time.

Pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, weaning, and age (among other factors as well) all have the power to screw up a woman's cycle. My cycle has had many, many different 'quirks' during the past 11 years. From a 'normal' 28 day cycle to having a 26-35 day cycle range to having a 21-29 day cycle range. From an 'average' amount of bleeding to very heavy to very spotty... Etc...

My personal opinion? Wait another week and if it still hasn't shown, take another test. If it's still negative, take a trip into the doctor to be checked out and possibly get a blood test.

Yes it can. I just weaned my daughter about a month ago and was freaking out because my last period was over a week late. My sister in law had the same thing with her last child.

When I weened my daughter at 15 months, my hormones went cuckoo. I don't remember if my cycle stopped all together, but it was certainly a couple of days late. I would suggest waiting to take a test for 1 more week, and retake it if you have not gotten your period yet. If it is still negative, probably get over to the doctor to make sure everything is normal. They can take a blood test which is more accurate. Best of luck!
