I need new ideas what I can do with my 11/2 year old during the winter. I like to try to get him out of the house, so we dont go stir crazy all winter. However I would love it if these activities were free or really cheap. We go to the library and play there, but we cant ever stay very long there. What are some of the things you do with your kids??

Go to BUrger King or McDonald's with a play place. Just order a drink and a snack. He can play for awhile while you read a book, or play with him.

I feel like I keep telling everyone this (which I do) but go to meetup.com, you'll find mom groups in your area that plan events and playdates.

Are there any mom and tot activities in your town? Or playgroups? Maybe you can just take turns getting together with friends and each other's houses during the winter.

In my area there is a place called Ontario Early Years Center. They have a few different locations in my city but the one I go to is a room in a government building. It is aimed at children 6 and under. There are toys and craft supplies ad they hold different activities like gym time or baking plus they sometimes hold event just for the parents like toilet training classes. Its a great way for me to get out of my tiny apartment with my daughter.
