I've been reading other posts about working at home and it seems you have to sell to do it. Are there any other ways to work from home besides selling?

Hi, I have my own business where I work from home to be with my son while Daddy is at work. I am hiring right now! I am looking for people that are enthusiastic and ambitious, we hire for personality, we train for skill. If you would like further information please contact me via e-mail at timfit5@rogers.com

I'd love more information.  Does this require any travel background?  Is this network available all over Canada I'm in Toronto?  I'd love to hear back from you.

Thanks for the info.  My kids are both in school full days.  I'm really looking for something during the school hours while they are not at home.  I appreciate your comments.

have tried for a couple years to find somtehing that I could do from home in Canada...but there isn't anything that doesn't involve selling. The websites like "work at home united" sound like Melalueca...or ...Herbalife. I tried them both,  with Melaleuca it involved being on the phone long distance for most days, and selling chemical free home products like cleaning products, makeup, bathroom stuff like shampoo, toothpaste. With Herbalife you need to buy the products first then sell them to other people because it's distribution.

I have tried most things and can only suggest the medical billing if you have the qualifications or the virtual assistant which I believe is getting pretty popular because it is cheaper in the long run for companies. I looked at both of those things too ...but eventually I decided to just go back to school and take a program that will get me a career.

In Canada if you have been on Maternity EI and it has ended, then you have 5 years from the end of your EI to have the Government pay for you to go back to school and pay your tuition, books, living allowance etc....

So, as much as you would love to stay home with your kids...you won't find anything that won't take away from them.  If you do find something at home you will be cutting into play time with them and they most certainly will interrupt you when you are on the phone with a customer...or you will be up at all hours of the night when they are in bed.

Just wanted to give my input, I feel I have gone through alot of this and have wasted alot of money trying it all out...except of course the whole going back to school :)

If you have any questions, please drop me a line, I am happy to answer any questions!

Take care,

Roberta

Does anyone know of any work from home companies in Canada that does not involve selling?

[deleted account]

Have you ever looked at www.wahm.com?  A lot, but not all, of the jobs require selling.

If you would ever be interested in a business opportuinty that's a very soft sell, of a fabulous product that I think everyone should be using anyway (with a great pay plan), I'd love to hear from you.    www.mymonavie.com/tlc2020

I work from home as an editor and have also worked as a virtual assistant and writer. Check out www.odesk.com, they are full of legitimate work from home jobs and it doesn't cost to join, view the jobs, etc.

Try contacting the medical field. Alot of times they are looking for help with their insurance and billing duties.

I do medical billing from home.  My practice mails me the dailys and once I week the EOBs are Fed-Ex'd.  I remote connect into their system and it works great.  I love it, it's a challenge, I get to deal with patients so my days vary and the pay isn't bad plus no commuting!  If you have any type of medical biling background I highly recommend searching for a practice that is willing to provide this type of system.
