About 9 months ago, my then 2 year old passed something that looked like a worm. I was freaked out and disgusted. I showed it to my husband then quickly threw it in the outside trash (we were at my MIL's house). It honestly reminded me of a night crawler that was about 3in long, and broke off on one end. Of course it happened on a Sat night, and figured I would call the doc on Mon. On the way home, I decided I had better call the nurse's hotline and of course they wanted me to bring in the diaper to the hosp. lab, but I couldn't, because I didn't have it. In all the doc ran 2 stool samples on him, but both came back neg. At the same time as this, my son started scratching his belly and back right under his neck, and butt cheeks. Then he stopped all of a sudden. Now, last week, I started to notice the scratch marks on his back again. Today, he went to the potty and had not quite diarrhea, but definately not formed and when I tried to wipe him, I noticed a ton of scratch marks around his anus. He also all this winter has had sleeping issues, which we attributed to brining in a new baby, then the baby was sick a lot and in the hosp, and of course I was with her. Since I've been a stay at home mom since he was 4 months old, we figured he was having attachment issues and have been doing our best to reassure him that everything is ok and mommy and daddy aren't going to leave him. Now I'm wondering if it isn't worms, because I know they cause sleep issues. Has anyone wormed their child, if so, what did you use? The doctor can't do anything without a positive stool sample, so I need (and actually prefer) something from a nature store.
