i hadnt really thought about it untill we went for her 3mnth check up (last week). the doctor asked if she had started to 'babble'. which she hasnt...at all! she makes sounds, but not baby babble.
since then i have been testing her. if she is on my knee looking at me with my partner next to me, he can not get her attention by talking to her/calling her. clapping really hard close behind her: no reaction. shouting: no reaction. but drop a fork on a plate and she gets a fright. something hard crashes and she gets a fright.
so confused! any ideas or thoughts?

haha. that would be nice...my 3yr old is such a daddies girl! lol
thats not really what worries me. if she is hearing impaired thats not gonna change a thing. she will be just as perfect in my eyes as she is now. i just want to know! and am not sure how to test the hearing of a 3mnth old or how much they are 'supposed' to react to...

Relax and take her for whatever checkups the doctor orders. No matter what hearing impairments have come a long way since the 80's! I wouldn't worry too much about it you will love her no matter what! It's tough to say that from one parent to the next because of course you worry about your childrens health but you will learn to look at her abilities and not worry about any disabilities. Maybe she is purposely ignoring her Daddy and just wanted to look at Mommy lol!
