Worried Ftm about autism

I have a little guy, 8 months, that has been difficult since day one. I'm a first time mom and really worried about some of his behaviors. He's crawling and pulling himself up on things now and that seems to be all he wants to do. He's not really interested in toys...other than just carrying them around with him while crawling. It seems as though he doesn't like to be confined or lay on his back...he hates sitting in the highchair too long, car seat, exersaucer, and hates getting his diaper changed and getting dressed. He just refuses to sit still. I'm always told it's a good thing that he wants to explore his environment, and I do agree to an extent. Another thing he's done lately is being infatuated with the toilet. He loves the caps that go over the bolts. He also isn't babbling. I just want what's best for him. I feel all I get done doing is worrying. Any advice?

Very normal for an infant his age. As for the babbling or making baby talk, some kids are not up to talking a lot. You need to stop worrying about everything and looking for things to wonder about. The more you do this the worse it is for you.

Other than not babbling (which may or may not be cause for concern)... he sounds like a fairly typical, active baby.

He sounds like a perfectly typical baby. All of the things he is doing are normal. My son loved the springy door stops and flicked at them endlessly. He may just be quiet by nature, but not babbling is not a red flag. Just continue to talk to him, sing and babble to him and he'll probably start. You are missing one of the best periods of your baby's life worrying over something that A. you have no control over and B. is probably not an issue in the first place.
