My wife has encouraged me to write a book about the Christian virtues. The book uses the animals of the Bible. I have found a master engraving to go with each animal, and so far a couple of very good publishers are interested.
I am wondering what home school families would think of this reseource. We home school, and we find it's a good way to help our kids gain a better understanding of Christian virtues.
In Proverbs, for example, animals are described as "extremely wise." In the New Testament, we can almost see Jesus bend down to hold a Sparrow in his hand to teach His friends about God's love for them. And what about that steadfast donkey, who carried the pre-born Jesus into the city of His birth and, later in life, carries Him into Jerusalem where He would leave this world.
The book has a brief description of the animal, and the virtue it helps convey; a definition of the virtue, and some scriptural references and poetic verse that ties the whole thing together for each animal and virtue.
I have found about 40 animals to help teach the Christian virtues of the New Testament, including the Beatitudes.
Do you think this would be a good resource?
