Why do you think your milk is not sufficient? Usually around 6 weeks babies take a growth spurt and nurse quite a bit. When my youngest was that age, she nursed for hours on end. As long as your baby is gaining weight, and he has 6+ dirty diapers a day, he's getting enough.

Your breastmilk supply increases or decreases to meet your baby's demand. If he is hungry, let him nurse as often as he wants. This will cause your body to produce more and catch up. Sometimes you can tell when they are in a growth spurt because they will 'cluster feed'. This means nursing almost hourly. After just a few days, your supply increases and the feedings become less frequent.

What they said. :)

You CAN introduce formula, but every time the baby has formula instead of nursing it will signal your body that it doesn't need to make more breast milk at that time... which if you DO have supply issues... it will only make them worse.
