I am 39. I have ason who is 23, son 19, & daughter 7. My 23yr old son has just gotten married and has a 3month baby boy. They act as if I haven't ever held a child before. I left out the part that I have been babysitting children since the age 12. I try over looking some of there comments, because I know they are young and its there 1st child. It just really bites tho. Please help!!!

Look at your son, smile, and say "I didn't drop YOU on your head, I doubt I'll drop this bundle"! and laugh.

Either that, or let it roll, and know that they'll relax as they get a bit more experience. We did...I know I was uber protective of my LO when he was born, even though I loved and trusted my grandmother, I still hovered when she held him. Actually, though, my reason was more 'just in case', as she was very weak and dying from cancer when he was born, and I didn't want her muscles to give out.
