LOL! Marketing scam? Really? My son is only 18 months and he knows a ton of the words off the videos... And the first FIVE years of life your brain makes the most synapse connections that it will EVER make, it is much easier to learn at that age... Children who read early in life are much more likely to succeed in school and post high school as well.. they function at an average of 3-5 grade levels ahead. Silly people... You don't know what you are talking about!

I don't use it, but my sister-in-law does that with her 8 month old son. I don't know how well it works, seeing as he's only 8 months, but both mom and baby enjoy the time they spend together on it, so that's worth something.

To Chelsea, if it's true that kids who do the program function 3-5 grade levels ahead, have you thought about the social and behavioural ramifications of that? My sister only skipped one grade, and that was already hard for her, so my parents didn't encourage her to skip more, though academically she probably could have. My husband was always in gifted classes, and if he wasn't, he found it hard to keep a good attitude in the "normal" classes. I was pretty average in the grades department (if I worked hard I got high 80s, and if I didn't try much I got low 70s), and really enjoyed school.

Why do you really need to teach your baby to read anyway? They will learn to read when they are older, and learning early makes absolutely no difference to their later education. Let them be babies!!

your baby can read and baby Einstein have now been outed as using false advertising with its use of false claims that these products are educational when infact they are nothing more than a marketing scam .

In fact Baby Einstein is now refunding all DVD's bought while under the impression that these were educational tools as they are being sued for misrepresentation .

I have it. It was working really well till my husband and I found out our 3 year old has a speech disorder. But he can copy the words, will say it before it does and is becoming familiar with his colors and animals.
