Hello out there Mommies! I want to hear your funny, inspirational, and not so great moments as a mom in college. I have two children, my daughter is 12 and my son is 4, and I have just one year left until I earn my bachelor's degree in health and wellness. I do not work outside the home as I cannot send my son to a traditional daycare (he is a special needs child), and I am an online student. I attended a brick and mortar school when my daughter was between the ages of 8mos to two years to earn my associates degree, so I understand the +'s and -'s of online and brick and mortar college/mommy-ing. Man is it tough! But what isn't in life ammiright? There are so many struggles that come along with being a college student; finances, time, maintaining emotional health just to name a few! Double that up by being a mommy and you're lible to go crazy at times! This is not a debate of who works harder/who is busier, etc., I want to offer support, empathy, and an occasional good laugh to all of us working to provide a better future for our families. So please, feel free to share your failures and successes here, I'd love to hear them :)

That's great Evelyn! Do you find that you and your son have the same curriculum at times? My daughter is in junior high as well, and she and I were doing the same kind of math at the same time! (My degree has a low math requirement, and my daughter, well, she's just that smart! lol!) It's so crazy to see her on par with me in math; I came from a disfunctional home and was not the best student at her age. It makes me so happy to know I could provide an environment for her to flourish in, and with my education it should only get better! My daughter wants to be an animator, and my son, well from what I can tell wants to be godzilla, lol!

I have recently gone back to college myself and my oldest is married and a mom herself while my youngest is in the junior year of high school. Both think it is great. My son and I can compare grades and what we are doing in class and the big boost is that we can keep each other on the up and up. We applaud the other's efforts. IN fact tomorrow night, my son has a presentation at school and I am going to see it. I do some classroom and some online classes and it is a struggle to work full time and school part time. But I love to learn and its fun being able to be in school while my kid is. He gets inspiration from me I think. He wants to be a mechanic.
