Yep, that's right...and I'm a bit worried because he will start daycare soon and they probably don't have a wing for his naps. Any suggestion? And has anybody tried the baby hammocks that are available on the market? Is it worth it and is it difficult to wean baby from it? Thanks!

My daughter was horrible at sleeping. She was colicy for the first 3 months and never did like to be in her crib. My Pediatrician suggested a big girl bed after she was just 1 so that I could lay with her before she fell asleep. She still is tough to get to sleep at age 6. Just read a good story, tuck them in, give them a kiss and hug and check on them in about 30 minutes. This usually makes them feel safe and makes a good night for all.

When my oldest was ten months he still slept in his swing (during the day). The swing broke and I decided it was time for his crib anyway. I was worried but after a week of working on a new routine he was just fine with hardly any fussing.

I work in a daycare believe me I know its hard to get them out of a swing. I've had to do this once before when we got rid of our swings and it was not fun. All we did was put them on there tummy. I he doesnt fall asleep after a few minutes pat or rub his back till he goes down by himself.

I too am lucky, my baby has been a sleeper since the 2nd night home and she is now 10 months :) ...We have always had a routine though I give her a bed time bottle (just recently it has changed to sippy) while rocking her, then its story time, when she lets me I will rock her to sleep but sometimes she will look at me and wave and say bye...meaning she just wants to lay down. We also have a "sleep sheep" it plays soothing sounds it is another thing that we have used since she was born...she prefers to nap in her crib as well...that is something that just started, she used to nap anywhere (on the floor or in her pack and play) but now during the day if we lay her down she will put herself to bed...
Either way every baby is different, and I think that if you are wanting to make the change you have to know that it will work and not get frustrated if it doesnt work right away..Oh You could always add bath time to the nightly routine and use that Bed Time soap that J&J make...Good Luck!

I agree with bedtime routine (ex. bottle/sippy, story then sleep) and letting him cry it out. My daughter got the drift really quickly and started sleeping 12 hours straight after only three days. Plus, she would put herself down for a nap as soon as we would put her in the crib. Good luck!

I have a 9 month old and he insists on sleeping in his swing during the day.. At night he's fine but during the day does NOT like sleeping in his crib.

yikes.. well i would say its time for bedtime routine and possibly letting them cry,..10 mos should be in own bed, your baby needs to get used to self soothing and laying in crib at this point and im sure you and dad need ur sleep
