Recently my 14 month old son has decided he won't sit in his high chair. He stands up & if I try to sit him back down he will scream till I let him out of his seat. In other words he is not eating much these days either. I just don't want him starting the "bad" habit of walking around while the rest of us (mom, dad & 3yr old sister) eat. Any suggestions as to how I can keep him in his seat at meal time, I'm out of ideas.

Take a look at the Tripp Trapp chair. I purchased two for my kids, they sit up tall to the table, feet on foot rest. Nice piece of furniture for the kitchen table, actually. It grows with the child until adulthood. It might be he'll be happy to sit like a big boy at the table.

I am having the same exact problem with my 15 months old daughter. We have been starting to let her sit in the big people chairs, RIGHT NEXT TO US. She thinks it's fun and she will still eat!

It's ok most babies and toddlers think they are big. I have a niece that is 16 months old and she hates the high chair but loves a booster seat but make sure that the seat can't move and they are strapped in. You can't I have 7 children and 6 grand children that wouldn't sit and eat so I got tired of fighting as long as they were eating but in resteraunts i encouraged them by saying sit here big girl/boy and they loved it. But at home it was a no go. as long as they are eating.

My opinion is whether the child wanted to sit on high chair or big chair is doesn't matter. As long as the child can sit down and eat.
