You want to choose something that is a good stable name. I recently had a son and liked the name Milo but my friends said it was a "cute" name for a little boy but what about when he is older? So we ended up choosing Madden. Good Luck

I may be by myself on this one, but I am not a fan of the common names. My name is Jennifer and when I was in school there was 4 million Jennifers. I named my son Mack Thadeous. When I yell Mack on the playground, I know chances are there is only one Mack.

Hi Kerry,

Do u want traditional/classic or unusual, maybe something they would stand out on any documents because its an old fashioned name but not one often used, also think about how a name sounds alongside the surname. Do you want a name that can't be shortened, as some people don't like their child's name shortened by others.

Sometimes its not untill you actually get to meet your baby face to face that suddenly a name springs to mind that you know will suit them.

Good luck

For example my nephew has an Irish name NEVAN which you don't often hear of and my son is named Horatio ( we call him 'H' for short), which again  is not often used but I find that people remember their names.

and just to add :)

we named our son after my grandfather and Bob marley(coz marley was a suport in my boyfriend's childhood).

and it waas not just that we thought of.. we also wanted our son to have a meaning that we stod for.

so our sons name means; protecter, message bringer and peace maker. in that order.

so we are pretty proud of our sons name... and it sounds good(alot of people love it) and best of all... it's only him IN THE WORLD who have that name :)

just hope we never get a second son... coz what in the world would we name him?!??!?

we just pray for a girl ;)

Quoting Trinna:

some of the names I like are..Deryan,Jerian,Daylan,Kaleb,Aidan,jensen,kayden,joren...

haha i must say names are funny, expesially across country... Jensen in a last name here, like before in Norway ... my last name should be geirsdatter( Geri((my dads name)) datter means daughter in norsk. so jensen is  after  jan, like jan's son).

but now we just get daddys last name(or mothers last name). the same as the muslim name MUSA, means "the mouse" in Norwegian  :)and Pia is a girls name in norway, but in the lanuage Swahili it means ALSO  hehe :) i just love it

Sounds like you've gotten tons of great names to choose from, so my only suggestion would be to be careful of the way you spell it. Whichever name you choose, you don't want to have you & your child spell their name for people for the rest of their lives.  When you choose a 'unique' name or spelling, you may wind up having to spell it for the rest of their lives. Which can be annoying. It still sounds the same no matter how you spell it. :) Oh, also, it'll be easier down the road to call them by their first name. I worked in a dr.s office as receptionist for 5 yrs and it was always a battle for parents. Insurance cards will always have first names first, etc.  Most every legal document, they will go by their first name, so it can get confusing as they get older.

I think there will be so many 'unique' names by the time my children are adults, we decided to give them strong traditional names: Samuel David and Sarah Elizabeth.  It's nice to see the 'old' names still used.

Hello.... I picked Ethan for my son, because of the local history of Ethan Allen. Is there any local history that interests you that might contain a name you would like to use? Just a suggestion! Good luck with the birth and life in general! Best wishes!

Quoting Kimberley:

Hi Kerri, I had a problem naming my last child too, I liked Cole but I didn't want that for his first name. I would hear the name Tristian on the TV but it was a female, and then low and behold a leading man in the movies was named Tristian!  I didn't know anyone named Tristian or for that matter I have never heard the name. Now my two year old is Tristian Cole A. He fit his name perfectly. GoodLuck!

hi just wanted to  let you know that Tristan is a popular  boys name in sweden :)  i stay in norway and a friends son is called Tristan, i work in daycare and guess what,,, we have a boy there called...Tristian.
