16 month old eating habit

Hello,

My 16 month old has been sticking her food under her legs and bottom in her highchair. It causes a huge mess because she will have the food stuck all over the sides of her pants and bottom. She will also take pieces of food and throw them off her highchair, even if I'm sitting there watching her. She does it right in front of me. I just don't know what else to do at this point. She will still eat so it's not like she isn't hungry or doens't like it. Any suggestions would be great! Thank you!

Hi. I have a 2 1/2 year old girl. I've never had that problem. Have you tried telling her to stop or tell her no? I don't know if you agree with time out but when my daughter doesn't mind or does something she shouldn't do we put her in time out for 2 minutes. Maybe that's something you should try. As soon as she does it and you tell her no if she doesn't mind put her in time out for 2 minutes and then take her back to her highchair and try it again. The most important thing is to be consistent. Overtime she should stop. Good luck!
