Did they test her for Lyme Disease? Depending on where you live, this could be a problem...but the tests are very inaccurate so it might not show up. Could she have been bitten by a tick at some point? My son was at 9 months.

Both of my daughters suffer from growing pains. They wake up a few nights a month holding their legs. I have noticed a little bit in the day too but not near as bad, could she be in the middle of a growth spurt?

It's possible there could be water on the knee that can cause a great deal of pain.

My dad has pains like that in his ankles and they found that he no longer has fluid between his joints (the fluid acts like a cusion between the bones and without it the bones are basicaly grinding together all the time). I know it's a long shot, but maybe have your friend ask the docs to look at something like that?

I'm not sure if they did a catscan though I know they did x-rays and blood work.

They actually are doing one more test on her to see if it's a type of child arthritis actually! But if that turns up nothing then we really have no clue what it is! Thanks for the help though. I wish it was easier to tell what is wrong with our babies! Hate seeing kids in pain and not knowing how to comfort them :(

This is a really big shot in the dark but could it be growing pains? I know my son,4 years, will complain about his knees hurting when he is growing really fast. My other thought is some kind of autoimmune disorder. I wonder if maybe her other major joints are hurting but because the knees take so much of the weight that it is not apparent. I would really like to know the outcome and I am sorry I am not much help. Are they swollen at all? Have they done a CAT scan?

Bless her heart...My daughter is 5 and she has a problem with her knee and leg...Its not real noticeable unless u know its there but her foot and leg turns kinda inward and when she's been running and playing alot or walking alot she kinda drags it, becomes very clumsy and trips and complains of pain...Actually shes been playing for 2 hours outside today with my niece and come n and told me it was hurting...I have been back and forth to doctors and they cant seem to figure out whats wrong either and I get the response "she'll grow out of it"...She complains of pain and sometimes cries...I have arthritis so i know when its gnna rain or turn cold etc. but so can she...idk if kids can even have it that young either...I wished there was an answer I can help but i dnt have any answers either...I hope we can both get some answers and be able to comfort and help them better...Good luck to yall
