my daughter is 17 months old. and until about 2 and a half months ago. she slept pretty well.

she got a bad cold... so she started sleeping in my bed. to my dismay... she's been in my bed since.

for the first little while she was fine.. and then in the past month.. she's been waking up about 4 hours after she goes to sleep SCREAMING bloody murder.

i'm almost positive its stomach pain. shes squirmy, and her cry is just,.... lets just say it sounds painful. nothing i do helps her.....

i'm 27 weeks pregnant with my second child. so in three months i'll have another baby in the house.... i want to have my daughter in her own bed again by then.

no.. i dont only WANT her in her own bed... i NEED her in her own bed.

i dont know how to do this with the screaming in the middle of the night.... what do you think i should do?

i realize she's going to hate going into her bed... she doesnt even have naps in there anymore.. so i'm prepared for a few sleepless nights before she's actually sleeping in there... but when she wakes in the middle of the night crying.. what do i do?

i never really considered the "night terror" thing.

a friend of mine's son had that for about 4 years. lovely.

i really hope she grows out of it soon.

i'm going to make an appointment for her and we'll see what a dr. says.

come to think of it.... she actually does wake up screaming, and then talk a little bit, sometimes her words dont even make sence.... and then (because she's in my bed) i lie her down and rub her back. and sometimes she falls right back asleep, and sometimes she lies there and wimpers a little... or she'll be quiet for a little while and then sit right up and scream again....

my poor girl. :( i hope we figure it out soon. thanks for the help ladies.

My daughter is 2 and she still has some kind of "night terror" thing. She doesn't actually get out of bed and it doesn't last long, but it did kind of freak me out at first. All of a sudden she'll just scream and talk to herself, then go back to sleep. Just enough to wake me out of a dead sleep....haha Hang in there. My daughter also has a blanket to help her soothe herself.

I hear night terrors are very common these days. Unfortunately all I've heard is eventually they grow out of it. Be strong and don't stress too much, you've got another bundle of joy on the way... But perhaps she could be reacting to the soon arrival of "mommy competition' Good Luch with it. I know how stressed you must be already, take some (ME TIME)

She might be having a night terror. My daughter had these suddenly and you think they are awake. Eyes open and all... but they aren't. Ask your doctor. And then do the supernanny thing. Keep putting her into her bed. reassure her that she can do it!
