Try not to worry!! with my second I didn't feel it til I was almost 19 weeks pregnant.... I also was a little concerned as I felt my first flutters around 14 weeks with my first... Finally I started to feel #2 move about... we ended up calling it 'Lazy Bones" as I didn't feel it til late. Good luck! I'm sure everything will be fine!

I would not worry at all. I lost about the same amount of weight in the time span and i am 25 weeks pregnant and i can still fit in some of my prepregnancy pants too (they are low rise). You are really not expected to feel the babies movement until after 20-22 weeks of pregnancy so i would not take this as a sign that something is wrong. I would only worry if you are having extreme cramps or bleeding. Sounds like everything is fine!

Samantha at any stage ring when worried to your obgyn and talk to them, see if you need an ulrasound to relieve any worries all the best be thinking of you and praying everything is ok

I am having my 3rd baby. I didn't feel him move until 17 1/2 weeks. I found out later that the placenta was in front and that's why I couldn't feel any movements until then. I'm sure everything's fine, but if you're really worried, it doesn't hurt to check things and ease your worries.

I lost about 20 pounds in my first trimester due to extreme morning (well all day) sickness. At 39 weeks and 2 days I delivered a 7lb 7oz bouncing baby boy. Don't worry too much. At 17 weeks I remember feeling something that I thought was the baby but turned out to be gas Lol. I'm sure the baby is fine. He's (or she's) just chillin'. :-)

I just found out I'm 16 weeks pregnant. 16 weeks ago, it was December. I went to planned parenthood in January to get birth control. Apparently the pregnancy test I took there was a few days since i conceived around the 15-30 of December. So since January 15, I've been on birth control and the symptoms from the pill were really from pregnancy. I had also been smoking and i drank a few times. I was shocked when I heard the heartbeat which was strong at 154 beats per minute on Thursday. I was afraid the baby would've been damaged or miscarried. I have a little bit of a baby bump but I feel like it should be bigger. In the past day it looks to be smaller. This is my first pregnancy and I have had no pains but I'm so worried :(

If your concerned, never be afraid to go to the doctors and talk to them :) I have lost 10kg (i thinks thats about 6 pounds) with this pregnancy (currently 16 weeks with number 2) So a bit of weight loss shouldn't be an issue. I also have no bump yet :( Which sucks, but is nothing to worry about darl.

Also, with number 1 i didn't feel her till 19w5d because my placenta was at the front (near my belly button) And now with number 2 i felt bub move from 15w1d because my placenta is at the back (towards my back) So it also depends on where your placenta is lying :)

I am almost 17 weeks as well. This is my third baby and I haven't felt anything either. I've been to the doctor and heard the baby's heartbeat twice. Try not to stress too much, it doesn't help you or the baby. I know how you feel, I'm on edge waiting to feel this baby move, but I feel like things are okay.

went to the dr today. Baby is moving fine. Babe is fine. So relieved. dr is worried about loosing 10 lbs.

I have lost weight too, I am 13wks now. Went up 4lbs then down 8lbs. I did with my second pregnancy too. 17wks if those are your only symptoms I wouldn't be super worried. It is so hard when the lil boogers don't cooperate to ease our minds!! Good luck!!

Don't worry. I didn't feel my daughter move until the end of my pregnancy.-- 4 days before she was born. The doctor's referred to her being Frank breached (spelling?) She was curled up with her legs were along side her and her feet up at her head. My daughter is fine w/o any health issues.

I wouldn't worry too much. I didn't feel my baby kick until about the 22nd week or so. You may have lost weight because maybe you are not eating as much as you did with the first and the baby is taking it. I was still wearing my prepregnancy clothes at 17 wks.

My first child I felt move at 15 weeks really early, but my second was about 17 weeks. But there was a deffinate difference as in the first was moving all the time I swear he did aerobics in side me. Lol! But the second was a more laid back baby did not move alot throughout the whole pregnancy. I understand how nerve wracking that could be. They are now 7 and 4yrs old and not changed a bit the oldest is way more active and the youngest is soooo laid back. Hope all goes well with you and ur baby.

I have 3 healthy girls and all 3 pregnancies were different. I felt them each move around 18 weeks. With my last pregnancy, I was pretty thin to begin with and didn't start to gain weight until around my 5th month or so. In my opinion, right now you shouldn't worry. If you get into your 20+ weeks and still don't feel movement, then let your OB/GYN know. Most importantly, hang in there. Too much stress isn't good for you or your baby.

have you had your check up yet? with number 2 i didn't feel any ,ovements until i was 26wks because my placenta was in frontof my belly, and i could only feel light tangs in my back. Just one reason for it.

You may not be feeling the baby because of the position of the placenta. If the placenta is in the front, it cushions the baby's movement. I didn't feel my son move until 21 weeks and I was told it was because of the placenta.

with my first child i lost 2 stone in weight and i didn't feel her move until i was further on in my pregnancy. if your really worried about not feeling your baby move you should talk to your midwife if it is just for peace of mind.

I felt my first at around 21w. They say you can feel subsequent babies sooner, I didn't feel the 2nd til about the same time. Then at 27w we lost our house to a fire & I guess the added stress of that & raising a 13mth old took it's toll. I didn't lose weight but he was born much smaller than my 1st (and a wk early). If your unsure don't wait to see the doctor, go to the hospital.

I am preggo with my 3rd and I didn't start feeling this one move till I was almost 20 weeks, and I lost 10 pounds the first couple months, so don't worry at all...I wouldn't stress yourself out.

Don't worry, I've only just started to fully feel my baby's movements at 21 weeks. Before then it was only every night or when I would lie down. I too was so extra worried because I felt my first baby kick at 14 weeks but my OB said it's perfectly fine because my placenta is in the front so when baby kicks it's kicking a pillow so not much movements til bubba is bigger (this is mu second pregnancy).
For a peace of mind just ring your midwife if u hav one or make an appointment with your GP if you don't have and OB yet.. Hope all goes well with your pregnancy x

I have a friend who didn't feel her baby moving till she was 7 months pregnant. Don't worry too much and you can always go and check the heart tone with your doc. Takes him 2 min really to see it on the monitor :-)

Darls all pregencies are different I would be that concern if there's be no sign of miscarriage or bleeding , can you go and get a second opininon from another O/B .all the best

I felt my #1 & #2 move only when I was 20 weeks pregnant. I thought they said that 2nd time mothers should feel their babies movements earlier but it is apparently not true.

Try to relax. i barely felt my baby move my entire pregnancy. and i never had strong noticable kicks and i had a healthy baby boy. if your feeling anxious about it maybe go to the ER, at the most they can detect the heartbeat.and let you listen!! that should put your mind at ease

I would not worry. I felt my1st baby move at 16 weeks and didn't feel my 2nd until I was almost 19 weeks. My friend didn't feel her baby move till she was 22 weeks! Every pregnancy is different and every baby is different. Loosing weight is also pretty normal so long as you don't lose too much. I'm sure your OBGYN appointment will go just fine. Most important thing? RELAX and try not to worry.

Hi :) you know I am a very thin person and have many children and I can tell you all my pregnancies were different. I just had twins a few weeks ago and honestly I was worried I couldn't feel TWO of them at 17 weeks (you'd think I would e). Now seeing my newborns I observe them being just so calm and not super active it's probably part of your baby's little personality! It's hard to say but really you likely have nothing to worry about. Hang in there until the 15th or re-schedule if you can :) aaaaand EAT MORE ;) good luck!

If you are worried go and see you obgyn earlier.. Or buy a baby listening device.... Every pregnancy is different, mine all were!!! As long as you can hear a strong heart beat then relax, worrying and stress will only give you high blood pressure!

I didn't start to get a bump until I was 23 weeks with my daughter and didn't feel her move until I was 20 weeks, she was my first, every baby is different though and some move more than others, try not to worry about it but to put your mind at rest see if you can get a check up or see your midwife.

My dr always told me that as long as I was actually eating and eating healthy, not to worry about my weight. Have you tried laying down and concentrating on trying to feel the baby move?

Most women don't start to feel baby move until 20 weeks or so. For losing weight, I have 3 boys. My first I gained 35 pounds, but the other 2 I lost weight. My middle I gained 13 pounds, and he was 9 pounds at birth. My youngest I gained 8 pounds in total, and he too was 9 pounds! So I lost weight throughout the pregnancies. It happens. Did you have morning sickness? You might have eaten less than usual if you did. That was part of my problem. I had morning sickness until 5 months with all 3 pregnancies. I'm sure everything is ok, and if you really are concerned I'm sure your obgyn will gladly talk to you about it. Good luck and congrats!

My first pregnancy, I lost almost 15 lbs before I gained anything. Depending on how you have been feeling with morning sickness and whatnot, and how much you are actually eating, you probably don't need to worry about that. As far as feeling the baby move - 17 weeks is still fairly early. It's possible that your placenta in in the front rather than back of your uterus and that will make it harder to feel movement. And it's also possible that you just won't feel it that early. My first, I didn't until about 21-22 weeks. With my second, it was more like 16 weeks and everyone told me that that was impossible, it wasn't really the baby moving, blah blah blah. But I don't know anyone else who has felt it nearly that early. I didn't show at all until more like 24 weeks with my son, where this time I was looking pregnant by about 12 weeks. It's all different for every baby, every body, etc. If you are really preoccupied with it and concerned, call your care provider and ask if you can come in earlier, even if just to get the heartbeat on the little hand held doppler.

Don't worry, with my second pregnancy I didn't feel the baby move until 19 weeks...so we nicknamed it 'Lazy Bones' I felt my first baby around 14 weeks so I was worried too as they say you feel the second one earlier but it was the complete opposite for me... as soon as i started to feel it then it carried on.. so hopefully you'll start to feel your baby move about real soon. I also lost weight in my first trimester with both my pregnancies. I lost 5kgs (about 10 pounds) both times. but made up for it in the second and last trimesters!!!! as long as your eating healthy and the baby is happy then that is all that really matters... I hear that with boy's you don't put on too much weight either. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!
