18 month check up

This isn't much of a question, but I was wondering how long you had to wait before getting an appointment? I just called today to get my daughter an 18 month appt. She turned 18 months on March 23rd, but she was sick. Well, they couldn't get her in until May 3rd. Is that really as far away as it seems to me? What are your thoughts? She does have to get her Hep A shot that day, the other times I call for an appointment, they get her in next week or 2.

I call about a month in advance for a well kid check up. Our ped is very busy because he's so awesome that everyone wants to bring their kids to him. If I need a visit for a sick or injured kid.... I'm almost always seen w/in 24 hours or I'm sent to another ped that CAN see the kids that fast.

It doesn't seem that far away- May is just a few weeks away. Spring has lots of forms for other parents to fill out- for spring and summer sports and whatnot, I'm not surprised, my doc office is always pretty full in the spring. I always make my well visits at the end of my last one, or call the same day. So, several months in advance.
