Hi everyone, My 2 year old daughter has a bad cold on thursday she had really high fever and a sore in her mouth. I took her to her pedi on friday and the doc said its a virus shell be better in a few days. Its monday now and the fever has finally left but now she has about 7 sores in her mouth from what i can see I dont want to force her mouth open since shes in enough pain already. Also her gums are bright red and very swollen . I was wondering if any of you have experienced this with your own child and how long did it last ? Also is there any advice to help relieve some of the discomfort? Ive been giving her tylonel but she still seems unconfortable. Im so tired of seeing her so unhappy :(

Also children who have long hair , that goes inside their mouth can cause mouth sores.

You might be right. I had forgotten that my niece had that and she had sores like that.

Her doctor said they were fever blisters but from what ive been reading I think it may be hand foot mouth disease (Virus) .

Get her back to the doctor and maybe see a pediatric dentist too. But sores in the mouth are either a viral something or canker sores, maybe thrush? I've never even heard of this. Please pass along what you find out.

I so hope she feels better soon.

Have you asked the doctor about the sores? My daughter gets hives sometimes with a virus, but I have not heard of the mouth sores.
