Me and my boyfriend just came back from our 1st ultra sound and we were wondering if someone else has gone threw this. The nasal bone on our baby is really short and they think it could be a sign of down syndrome. They want to re check it in two weeks. What are the chances they were wrong? and will notice it was fine?

Hi I wish you all the very best on this issue. I am trying to get pregnant as an older mother for the second time and the ratio of this happening to me is 1 in every 100 or 200. Even if this fact becomes truth you will still have a gorgious gorgious child to love and enjoy and watch grow in the world and sometimes we have no control over these things but I would embrace it now in case its true and then accept it when it becomes fact and your love will follow! I never thought I was maternal at all but when my son came it all changed he was very premie with lots of problems but now a glowing 7 year old somewhat slower than other kids but still our gorgious son. I wish you all the best either way you will and can be fabulous loving parents! There is lots of support out there on the net an in mothers groups for all mothers. Maybe you could also contact your local child health nurse for some advice now i think would be a fabulous idea. It may or may not be. It could also be a sign of other things. But try not too worry until you know for sure. Even then. Try to be strong. Even if it is down syndrome I guarantee you will not love it any Good luck I hope everything goes smoothly for you.

1st: Does Down Syndrome run in your family?
2nd: It could possibly be a mistake. They will more than likely run some more tests to be positive.
3rd: Don't stress out about it. I have a little cousin that has Down Syndrome and she is the sweetest little girl I have ever met. If your child has it, it's not the end of the world. You are still going to love that baby no matter what.Just go online and find out more about it and that will help ease your mind a little bit.
