My 22 month old little boy was just sent home from Daycare with a 103 fever. I know there is a bug going around righ now, but I'm wondering what I can do to keep him comfortable and keep his fever down. His 5 year old brother just ended his fever this morning (had it for 4 days) I'm just a little scared because he is so young. Help. :)

Thank you all for the post. He is doing much better. It was his shots he got on Wednesday. I'm so happy it's not the virus his brother got.

if he still has the fever try putting a cold cloth between his thighs. lots of blood vessels. Hope he's feeling better though!

103 is high, but at that age isn't typically dangerous. Motrin or Tylenol should be able to keep it under control. A cool, damp washcloth on his forehead will help... IF he's let you keep it there. My little guy would never cooperate w/ that. Keep him hydrated and call the doc if he gets worse.
Oh... I just noticed this was 3 days ago, so I hope he IS better by now.

Just make sure you stay up on his tylenol or motrin. Most doctors won't see them until it has gone longer than 3 days. Remember most younger children's fevers tend to be higher than an adults, if it reaches higher than 104 though I would definitely call doctor. Also try cool baths to keep him comfortable.
