My boy just turned 2 a month ago. Ever since then he has not listened to a single thing that I say. When I put him in timeout he laughs and gets out. I put him right back in and it happens over and over. He will slap me across the face when I tell him no. When we are out in public he loves running around and not listening. He only has 20 words so he can't tell me what he wants. I end up in tears almost every night. My husband works and I am a stay at home mom. HELP

He is testing his boundaries. They don't call it the terrible two's for nothing :-)

The main thing is to keep a calm but form voice when telling him off and to stay constant. Try not to let him see that he has affected you because he will then continue as he's getting attention. It doesn't matter if it's good or bad attention, they love it.

I've just had to deal with a tantrum from my 2.5yo daughter not even 10 mins ago. All I did was keep telling her to stop crying and then ask me nicely for what she wasnted me to do. It took about 2 mins but she eventually realized she wasn't getting anywhere so she stopped and asked me nicely.

If he doesn't know how to ask for things get him to show you what he wants but only when he has calmed down. Stay strong and get your husband to back you up.
